FAIR USAGE POLICY

This Fair Usage Policy (“Policy”) explains how HiveMoments ensures fair, reliable, and high-quality service for all users. It defines acceptable usage limits and behaviors across free and paid plans.
HiveMoments is designed to support private event photo, video, and guestbook experiences. To maintain performance and availability for all users, we apply reasonable usage expectations and may take action where usage exceeds intended limits or negatively impacts the platform.
1. OVERVIEW
HiveMoments provides media hosting, sharing, and event-based content experiences using shared infrastructure.
While some plans may advertise generous or flexible limits, all usage is subject to fair and reasonable use. This Policy ensures that no individual account, event, or automated process disproportionately consumes system resources in a way that degrades service for others.
2. STORAGE AND MEDIA USAGE
Each HiveMoments plan may include specific limits related to:
- Number of events
- Number of uploads (photos and videos)
- Storage usage
- Video processing and streaming capacity
Users agree to use the service within the intended scope of their selected plan.
HiveMoments reserves the right to:
- Enforce plan-based limits
- Apply upload restrictions or throttling where necessary
- Limit excessive storage consumption that is inconsistent with normal event usage
HiveMoments is not intended to function as a general-purpose file storage or backup system.
3. PROHIBITED OR EXCESSIVE USE
The following activities are considered excessive or prohibited:
- Uploading content unrelated to events (e.g., bulk storage, archives, or backups)
- Automated or scripted uploads that simulate user activity
- Excessive video uploads or streaming beyond normal event usage patterns
- Using HiveMoments as a content distribution network or file hosting service
- Attempting to bypass plan limits or system controls
- Scraping, downloading, or accessing media at scale without authorization
Any use that materially impacts system performance, stability, or other users’ experience may be restricted.
4. BANDWIDTH AND STREAMING
HiveMoments uses third-party infrastructure (including Cloudflare) for image delivery and video streaming.
Excessive bandwidth usage — including unusually high traffic, repeated downloads, or abnormal streaming patterns — may result in:
- Temporary rate limiting
- Reduced performance
- Suspension of affected events or accounts
HiveMoments reserves the right to monitor usage patterns to ensure fair distribution of resources.
5. AUTOMATION AND API USE
HiveMoments is intended for interactive use by event hosts and guests.
Unless explicitly authorized:
- Bots, scripts, or automated systems may not be used to upload, download, or interact with content
- API access (if provided in the future) must comply with documented limits and intended use cases
Unauthorized automation may result in immediate suspension.
6. ENFORCEMENT
If HiveMoments determines that usage violates this Policy, we may take action including:
- Temporary or permanent upload restrictions
- Throttling of bandwidth or processing
- Removal of excessive or non-compliant content
- Suspension or termination of accounts or events
Where reasonable, HiveMoments will attempt to notify users before taking action. However, immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect the platform.
7. PLAN UPGRADES
If your usage consistently exceeds the limits or expectations of your current plan, you may be required to:
- Upgrade to a higher-tier plan, or
- Reduce usage to comply with your current plan
HiveMoments may provide recommendations or guidance based on usage patterns.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
HiveMoments may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service, infrastructure, or usage patterns.
Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
